Dorothy Marie Bigford, 67

Dorothy Marie Bigford, 67, of Charlotte, Mich., passed away on Monday, June 11, 2012, in Lansing, Mich. 
She was born on Oct. 2, 1944, in Coldwater, Mich., to Wilford and Hazel (Binegar) Collins. On April 23, 1966, she married Raymond H. Bigford in Lansing, Mich.
Dorothy was very proud of her family. She was a self-taught piano player and loved sharing her music with everyone.
Dorothy worked as an administrative assistant at Olivet College and enjoyed her work, even after 43 years.  It was often said she was irreplaceable within the many administration offices at Olivet College. She was a big supporter of the Olivet students and it wasn’t unusual for them to recognize her no matter where she went.
Dorothy loved games especially her traveling Yahtzee game, bowling on local leagues, and camping with family and friends.  She was a member of ODK of Olivet College, Olivet College Women’s Board, and the South Side Mothers Club.
Dorothy is survived by her loving spouse of 46 years, Raymond; one daughter, Dawn M. McLeod of Charlotte, Mich.; two grandsons, Tyler P. (Shasta) McLeod and Raymond G. McLeod; two granddaughters, Heidi M. McLeod and Krystal M. McLeod; one great-granddaughter, Sondra Y. McLeod; and one sister, Martha C. McCorkle of Bluffton.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother, Wilford E. Collins.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 14, with funeral services to be held  at 11 a.m. Friday, June 15, at the Pray Funeral Home, Inc., Charlotte, Mich., with Rev. Perry Purcell officiating. Burial will take place in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Orland, Ind.
If desired, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the South Cochran Church of God in Charlotte, Mich..
