David Carlyle McConnehey, 82

David Carlyle McConnehey, 82, of Fort Wayne, a former resident of Bluffton, passed away at 3:22 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at Lutheran Life Village. 
David was born Oct. 29, 1930, in Allen County to Luther McConnehey and Ottie Toner McConnehey. He married Eleanor Jean Rauner May 19, 1951, in Bluffton. His wife preceded him in death March 11, 2013. 
David served in the Indiana National Guard for 10 years as a cook and earned the rank of master sergeant. David’s career included working as a welder and a machinist. He served a portion of his career at Mix Mill.
He was also a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Bluffton.
He is survived by two sons, Dennis McConnehey of Kentucky and Mark (G. Rene) McConnehey of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Michelle (Harold) Hughes of Texas; a brother, Paul McConnehey of Columbia City; two sisters, Becky Pafford of Florida and Priscilla Gordon of Churubusco; and six grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Thoma/Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton. Memorial services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Miller officiating.
Preferred memorials are to the First Church of the Nazarene.
