Brian K. Kinsey, 51, of Indianapolis, a former Wells County resident, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at his residence.
Born in Fort Wayne on June 22, 1961, to Max E. and Connie (Breeden) Kinsey, he married Rose Stephens on April 4, 2007, in Miami Beach, Fla.; she survives.
He was a 1979 graduate of Norwell High School. He was the first two-time recipient of the prestigious Pascuzzi Award, the outstanding umpire of the year award of the National Softball Assoc. (NSA). Earlier this month, he became the first inductee into the Indiana NSA Hall of Fame, Umpire Category. He worked as a postal worker for many years. He loved golfing, fishing, umpiring softball, and playing cards with his friends.
Other survivors include a stepdaughter, Adrienne Stephens of Indianapolis; a stepson, Bradley (Anna) Stephens of Schererville; two brothers, Bruce Kinsey of Plainfield and Bradley (Sandy) Kinsey of Fort Wayne; and two grandchildren, three nieces, and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Diana Lynn Kinsey.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Myers Funeral Home. Calling hours will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Myers Funeral Home.
A memorial service will take place in Indianapolis at a later date.
