The American School Counselor Association (ASCA) has announced that Norwell High School is among the 60 schools from 14 states that will be recognized June 30 for making an exemplary commitment to comprehensive school counseling programs.  Twenty of the schools are located in Indiana.

The Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) designation, awarded to schools that align with the criteria set in the ASCA National Model, recognizes schools that are committed to delivering a comprehensive data-driven school counseling program and an exemplary educational environment.

Eric Sparks, ASCA’s 2007-08 president, said, “This (RAMP) designation distinguishes these schools and encourages school counselors nationwide to continue to strive for success.  This year’s RAMP honorees have shown their commitment to students and the school counseling profession.”

Over 180 schools have been honored with the RAMP designation since the program’s inception in 2003.
