Wind farms picked as top 2012 story

The Area Plan Commission’s much-debated 6-to-4 vote in March to allow more than 80 wind turbines in southern Wells County is the top news story of the year.
More than 1,000 people attended a meeting that didn’t end until after 1 a.m., but the APC ultimately approved Apex Wind Energy’s two wind projects following months of planning, studies and meetings.
