NFL Punt, Pass & Kick scheduled for Saturday
The Bluffton Parks and Recreation Department and Bluffton High School football program will host a free NFL Punt, Pass & Kick contest at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at the Fred F. Park Field.
Girls and boys ages 6 to 15 may participate. A copy of the child’s birth certificate is needed for age verification.  Boys and girls will compete separately in the following age brackets: 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13 and 14-15. Local winners will advance to regional competition.
Children may be registered online at www.NFLPPK.com or at noon Saturday. For more information call the parks office at 824-6069.


Correction on Bluffton golf story
The Bluffton Tigers’ victory over Eastbrook in girls’ golf action Tuesday afternoon was not the first victory neither is this the first girls’ golf team in school history. The Tigers fielded girls’ golf teams in the 1980s which were coached by Janet Baker and Jim Brown. The News-Banner apologizes for the error and regrets an inconvenience it may have caused.
