Saturday Sub: Some Dickens lessons only seen in print

Was a bit surprised last week when, overhearing a conversation between two co-workers, I discovered that one has never read Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.”
I suppose I should not be surprised to discover how many people only know the classic through the many, many versions that have been produced. From Mr. Magoo to the Muppets, to Mickey Mouse to classic actors, everyone likes to tell the story.
