Perfect game, perfect season

Nick Huffar struck out 11 batters en route to a perfect game in the championship game of the Junior League tournament Friday evening. The 12-year-old retired every State Farm Insurance batter he faced and smacked two doubles and a single at the plate, as Pizza Hut shut out State Farm 13-0 to end a perfect season.
Pizza Hut went undefeated during the regular season, claiming the regular season Junior League title and then swept through the tournament as well.
Also for the Hutters, Gavin King tripled and doubled,  Elias Inskeep singled twice and tripled, Corrie Lewis doubled twice, and Willie Turner singled twice.
Pizza Hut had defeated PNC Bank, 14-0 and State Farm 14-9 to get to the title game; details from those games were in Thursday’s News-Banner.
On Thursday, State Farm defeated PNC Bank, 12-9, to earn a spot in the championship game. Zach Cummins recorded the win as pitcher for State Farm. On offense, State Farm’s Connor Hiday hit an inside-the-park home run and an out-of-the-park home run.
State Farm defeated AdamsWells Internet Telecom TV Monday, 13-10.  Max Corle,who was the winning pitcher, knocked in three singles and a double for State Farm, while Gabe Eisenhut singled twice and doubled.
For Adams Wells, Kyle Stacy doubled twice and singled. Landon Harris singled three times. Caleb Stacy doubled once and singled twice. Noah Christal knocked in two singles for AdamsWells.
