Celebrating 44 years

After 44 years with the city, Elmer Pate, right, celebrated his retirement during an open house Monday afternoon. With the exception of three months, Pate worked at the water filtration plant since November 1969. Coworkers, friends and family gathered in the Common Council chambers to celebrate, and Council President Jim Phillabaum declared Monday Elmer Pate Day.
